X-Ray Destruction

X-Ray Destruction

Similar to paper records and electronic data, X-Rays contain confidential information and they must be treated in a secure manner and destroyed properly at the end of their life cycle. X-Rays also contain material that could be dangerous to the environment.

In order to protect our clients’ data and protect the environment, Document Destruction Services uses the following process and partners with a certified film refiner and recycler.

  • X-Ray film is removed from paper jackets.
  • The paper jackets are shredded and recycled.
  • The X-Ray film is chopped and chemically processed to remove all silver images.
  • The removed silver is refined.
  • The remaining clear plastic is recycled.
